Blue Offset Exchange
Blue Offset Exchange
First Scalable Marine & Aviation Carbon Credit Platform in the United States
1. The Anchor Project — Bay Flyer Fleet
Beginning in 2026, two 22-passenger electric hydrofoil catamarans will operate ~100 nautical miles per day, year-round.
- Total annual distance: 73,000 nautical miles
- Verified diesel-equivalent emissions avoided: ~540 metric tons CO₂e per year
- Monetizable value at current California LCFS + voluntary market rates ($50–$150/t):
$27,000 – $81,000 per year — from just two vessels
These avoided emissions generate Bay Offset credits, becoming the first verified marine carbon credits produced by a zero-emission passenger ferry fleet in the U.S.
2. The Real Opportunity — Blue Offset Exchange
Blue Offset Exchange is not simply a credit generator.
It is the first over-the-counter (OTC) marketplace built exclusively for marine and aviation carbon credits.
Every electric or low-emission ferry, tug, workboat, short-sea cargo vessel - and eVTOL in the U.S. — and soon globally — will be able to:
- Register vessels and eVTOLs on the Blue Offset Exchange
- Upload operational data (distance, energy use, passengers, diesel displaced)
- Automatically receive verified Bay Offset credits
- Sell those credits directly to airlines, cruise lines, logistics providers, and corporations seeking Scope 3 maritime emissions reductions
This turns every clean voyage into a traceable, monetizable environmental asset.
3. Revenue Model — Owning the Infrastructure Layer
Blue Offset Exchange earns revenue through two complementary channels:
A. Bay Flyer Credits
100% of revenue generated by Bay Flyer’s own verified credits.
B. Marketplace Fees
An 8–12% transaction fee applied to all third-party credits traded on the Exchange.
With modest industry uptake — just 5% of U.S. electric ferries and tugs by 2030 — the Exchange could process:
- 500,000+ tCO₂e per year in marine carbon credits
- $4–8 million in annual marketplace-fee revenue within 5–7 years
The projections on Exchange fees for eVTOLs is a work in progress, but we expect significant additional numbers.
The Bottom Line
Two boats prove the model.
The Blue Offset Exchange scales it nationally and globally.
Blue Offset Exchange becomes the enabling infrastructure for maritime and aviation decarbonization — the system that turns every zero-emission vessel and eVTOL into a recurring revenue stream.
Just as Stripe created the API layer for payments, Blue Offset Exchange creates the API layer for low-carbon maritime and aviation operations.
